On Sunday, the draw for the first round of the German Cup took place. The competition marks the start of the new season and matches will take place between July 29 and August 1.

The current defending champion, RB Leipzig led by André Silva, started the conquest defense against Teutonia Ottensen, a modest club from Hamburg that currently plays at regional levels, but was one of the 86 founders of the German Football Association, in 1900 • Champion Bayern Munich visits Victoria Colon. These are the only matches played on August 30, with the two teams competing for the Super Cup on July 30.

In other matches, Dortmund visited 1860 Munich and Friborgo, the losing qualifiers in this edition, went to Kaiserslautern, who had recently been promoted to the second division.
