The extraordinary meeting of the Association of Clubs has ended.

The league’s match proposal to start with fewer than 13 players was approved with one vote against and two steps ahead, but it was a peaceful vote because it was in the best interests of all clubs in the event of an outbreak; But the request by the Belenenses SAD to amend and create conditions for retroactive effect, and thus repeat the match with Benfica, was not even accepted in the vote.

Belenenses SAD wanted to imply a change to this rule, allowing for a retrospective and consequent repeat of the match against Benfica (0-7), of round 12 of the league, in which the Blues appeared on the field with only nine. athletes. Benfica declared from the outset that it considered this principle illegal, FC Porto expressed the same opinion and then a vote on admissibility was taken – there were votes in favor of Belenenses SAD and Sporting and SC Braga and Academia abstained.

A legal opinion provided by the Association also contributed to this situation, which affirmed the retroactive inadmissibility of this decision, although Belenenses SAD provided a dissenting opinion. The clubs did not consider the arguments of the Belenenses SAD to be illogical, but they realized that they had little time to analyze the matter in depth.

The case for a possible repetition of the game is still on the table, only because the process of analyzing the events takes place in the disciplinary board, which makes it practically impossible to dictate the repetition of the game.
