Three people have already been arrested at the place where thousands of supporters were present
Several people were shot in Kansas City, Missouri, during celebrations of the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl, the final of the North American Football League.
According to police, the shooting occurred near a parking garage next to Union Station. City Fire Battalion Chief, Michael Hopkins, said that several people were injured, one of whom died and three others were in critical condition.
There are still five injured people in serious condition and another in serious condition. Five other victims were also treated, although it is not certain that all injuries were caused by the shooting.
Kansas City Police also confirmed the death following the shooting, and also confirmed the three arrests. The city's police chief did not give an exact number of victims – there would be more than 20 – but indicated that there was already an open investigation.
“I'm angry about what happened today. The people who attended the celebration should have expected a safe environment,” Stacey Graves said.
The city's mayor was also at the scene and admitted he was “heartbroken like everyone else.” Quinton Lucas, who was present at the celebrations with his wife and mother, said he was “incredibly upset and disappointed.”
Meanwhile, police shared a post detailing the scale of the event, which was attended by thousands of people.

The Associated Press wrote that shots were fired shortly after Kansa City Chiefs players promised to try to win a third consecutive Super Bowl.
Several ambulances and dozens of law enforcement officers were at the scene. As you can see from the photo linked to the article, thousands of people attended the celebration.
