The new iPad Pro models will be officially announced on May 7 during Apple's “Get Loose” event, and a new rumor suggests that the brand's premium tablets will have the best OLED displays on the market. This information comes from trusted analyst Ross Young.
In publishing in View supply chain consultants (DSCC), the CEO of the display analysis company highlights that the new iPad Pro models will feature, “by far, the best OLED panels of any tablet on the market.”
Apple is expected to use an OLED display instead of the previously used Mini LED and LCD panels to achieve maximum control over contrast, color and brightness thanks to self-lit pixels.
Additionally, the LPTO technology already found in iPhone Pro models will make the ProMotion display more power efficient, allowing the refresh rate to automatically adjust up to 120Hz depending on what's being displayed.
According to Young, the new OLED panel on the iPad Pro will provide thinner and lighter displays for Apple's tablets, providing a very high level of brightness, long battery life and greater screen durability.
Based on the latest leaks, the new iPad Pro models will have 11- and 13-inch OLED screens, and may be equipped with the unprecedented Apple M4 chip instead of the previously expected M3.
Apple's goal will be to deliver maximum tablet performance and ensure all upcoming generative AI features should arrive with the next iPadOS 18, which will be announced at WWDC 2024 on June 10.
Apple's tablets are also expected to have a redesigned look that offers a slimmer chassis, horizontal Face ID repositioning, and potential support for MagSafe charging and new accessories.
The new iPad Pro and iPad Air – first in 11- and 12.9-inch sizes – will be announced on May 7 at 11am (Brazil time). See what to expect from the presentation.
