Apple is working hard to integrate more artificial intelligence into its devices and systems, known as Apple Intelligence. However, despite the company confirming that it is working on this technology, it is not yet directly available to users.
That's because all of the features should only be released with iOS 18.1. While some of them are already available, the vast majority of them — and certainly the most important ones — are expected to arrive later.
However, according to Mark GormanFrom Bloomberg, not all the expected features may arrive with the new software update. It seems that Apple may take more time to release all of its planned Apple Intelligence features, so much so that some of them may only arrive in iOS 18.4.
This version of Apple's operating system is only scheduled to launch in March 2025, and this seems to be the internal planned date by Apple to make all the new features of Apple Intelligence available to users. Before that, the company will gradually provide access to some of the key features.
iOS 18.1 will be just the first step in bringing Apple Intelligence to market, and will be available in a very limited way, only to users with the system in English, located in the United States. iOS 18.2, due out in December, will bring access to Genmoji and direct integration with ChatGPT.
As for iOS 18.3, it will not arrive until January 2025, and it will be a minor update, offering only possible fixes for defects and errors, while adding new features to Siri.
The gradual rollout of these new features will allow Apple to fix any issues that may arise, and will give the company time to improve Apple's intelligence.
