Dear colleagues,
Over the past few hours, SC Braga has received numerous requests and ideas for its annual places campaign for the 2024/25 season, which have clearly been analysed, evaluated and deserve our sensitivity and understanding. However, it must also be emphasized that the changes applied result from an internal consideration involving the management and responsible departments, taking into account four main factors:
- Over the years, SC Braga has chosen to manage its pricing policy regarding annual seats very conservatively. This choice led, in our analysis, to a significant discrepancy between the growth that Braga was recording, at all levels, and the values exercised in selling tickets for each season. For example, between 2008 and 2023, Guerrero Square in Puente Central saw an increase of €10 (13%); Lugar Gverreiro in Poente Superior recorded a decrease of €15 (-25%); Lugar Geverero's Middle East (50 euros) remained the same, while there was a decrease in the East Side (from 45 euros in 2008 to 40 euros in 2023);
- In the comparative market analysis regularly carried out by SC Braga, with a clear focus on the clubs competing in the national reality, an increasing gap has been registered between the values practiced. In other words, SC Braga's market position was developing towards a decline in its own value;
- SC Braga has set its competitive level, thanks in large part to the support and desire expressed by its members, in order to increasingly assert itself as a direct competitor to the historically strongest clubs in our country. This mathematical approach, must be robust and always must be accompanied by growth in the various income components recorded by the SAD. It is still very clear compared to national rivals – and even more so compared to the European clubs that FC Braga faces – the difference created by matchday operations, as members will certainly know (and expressed in a consultant's analysis presented to the club's AGM in October 2022). ).
- SC Braga has been competing for 20 years in a stadium where it does not belong. This relationship results in an unsatisfactory service and the club and SAD are aware of the need to improve it, even if it is a matter of taking the initiative to make an investment to enhance the value of sports equipment owned by a third party and which is contractually assigned only to SC Braga until 2033. However, the management decided, in the months Finally, immediately begin a set of structural interventions at the stadium that will improve the fan experience, enhance the services provided and increase revenues generated. In addition to the previous changes to the bars and fan zone, new sound installations will be completed throughout the stadium, a new lighting system, the inclusion of LED lines in all bench structures and the installation of a new state-of-the-art giant screen. In the coming weeks. . This is a multi-million euro ongoing effort that cannot be transferred to tickets, but should not be ignored.
SC Braga accepts and understands the reactions of its members, and does not dare to make any comment on private issues, such as the management of household budgets or the rate of effort that each member can devote to the association and attendance on the field.
However, the club and SAD must be convinced of the value they offer to their members who occupy annual places, both in terms of the sporting level that we have together been able to achieve, but also in terms of the position in which we have been able to raise this banner.
The annual venue includes only the 17 Betclic League matches. Its holder will have access to the 3 qualifying matches for European competitions, all matches of the B team and the women's national team (which will soon start competing in the new mini-stadium), in addition to all matches held in the Sports City. It also has preference for all other matches in which SC Braga participates, both for other competitions and for matches at the AMCO Arena involving modalities.
Thanks to everyone's efforts, SC Braga is today a club with first-class facilities that everyone should benefit from. This legacy was built without any external support, but also without placing burdens on the members, who entrusted the club and the leaders of SAD with the task of supporting the necessary strong investment, and generating the necessary resources for this purpose.
We thank you very much for the messages and contributions sent to us by partners, and we hope that we can continue to count on your support and efforts. It is important for all of us to continue the tremendous growth path we have witnessed over the years.
