Anne Heche’s tragic accident is back in the spotlight. This is because the woman who lives in the house against which the actress crashed her car, on August 5, is suing the family of the late artist.

According to People, which had access to the file, attorneys for Lynne Michele filed the documents with the California Supreme Court on November 9, in Los Angeles. A search is underway for “at least two million dollars” in compensation for “negligence, incitement to psychological distress, and abuse.”

Records say the woman—who was renting John and Jennifer Durand’s home at the time of the accident—says she “was working from home when she was struck by the force of Heche’s car, which crashed into the front wall and entered the living room, kitchen, office, and closet before settling into the laundry room.”

The documents also indicate that the woman and her three pets “narrowly escaped the physical impact of the car accident.” They also described that Michel was “terrified, deeply traumatized and without a place to live”.

A fire after the accident destroyed “the house and all his personal belongings”. They say the plaintiff “continues to suffer severe emotional problems and professional difficulties”. They add, “He cannot sleep and suffers from anxiety and depression.”

It is also known that the day after the accident, John and Jennifer Durand launched a GoFundMe campaign to get help with costs, describing Michel as a “kind and generous” person. To date, they have managed to raise more than $183,000.
