Android 15 could make notifications less intrusive

Android 15 could make notifications less intrusive

Any user of an Android mobile device will have already gone through a kind of “love-hate” relationship, associated with the notifications he receives on his smartphone or tablet.

On the one hand, if we cannot afford not to receive them at the appointed time, because of the potential importance they may have, then many of them (the majority?) can actually wait for another time, leaving us without distraction from what we want to do.

Google seems to want to improve the way notifications interfere with our attention and is preparing new features for Android 15.

Android 15 may include a new, less intrusive, built-in notification feature, as shown in this image posted to Android Authority by Android expert Mishaal Rahman.

(More) Built-in notifications

According to Android expert Mishaal Rahman in an article he wrote for Robot bodyGoogle's solution involves providing a more compact notification window.

The feature is available in the latest Android 15 beta update, and still requires some tweaks to Google's operating system.

After this process, Mashal Rahman was able to run a more compact notification system than the current Android system, and it is possible to see only small text appear, without any image (except for the user sending the message). From there, the recipient can dismiss the message window, maximize it, open it, or choose to reply even from the compressed version of the notification.

The Android Authority article draws attention to the fact that it is not yet clear how the new system will handle multiple message notifications.

The answer to this question could eventually arrive with Android 15, although Rahman says it's possible that it won't be integrated into this new version right away, but only in a later update, or in Android…16!
