Anna Aripentina, 31, appeared on the RTP1 show “Minha Tarde” in I spoke to Tania Ribas de Oliveira and she didn't hide anything. She talked about the death of her parents without really knowing them, and ended up talking about her sexual orientation – revealing that she is gay.

“My father didn’t know that, and my mother knew. (…) My father didn’t know who I really was, who I am. I’m a person who loves people.”Anna Arpentina began by saying.

Then he revealed how he told his mother and what her reaction was: “And when I came to my mother and said that I loved the woman who was with me at the time, my mother looked at me and said, ‘My daughter, I was the one who gave birth, I know. And I was really sad that you didn’t tell me,’ and she had the best reaction of my life, she just said to me, ‘For me, it’s the same,’ which is apparently what I want, I am who I am, and my mother saw that it was completely normal, like my brothers, my aunts, everyone in my family.”.

“We can’t always show the differences. We have to show the normal. And that’s the normal. (…) I always say: I don’t want people to accept, I want people to respect. And by respecting them, they already accept me and they accept anyone else, just as they would accept someone with a bad mood, whoever they are. We have to be who we are for the rest of our lives, because I've learned that life, from one moment to the next, ends and we have to be happy. And that's what we're all looking for, happiness.”.
