The Eagles buy a pass from the Spanish full-back
Alvaro Carreras is definitely in the Reds' squad for the 2024/25 season. The Spanish full-back was introduced on January 17, and arrived at Luz on loan until the end of the season by Manchester United, who bought him back from Spanish side Granada to put him at Benfica. Although Roger Schmidt recently said that the club have not yet made a final decision, what is certain is that the Eagles have already agreed that the Spanish Under-21 international will indeed continue, so they will get the 21-year-old's clearance. An operation that will cost about 6 million euros.
Appointed following the departure of Juraszyk – he is on loan at Hoffenheim – and given Bernat's recurring physical problems, Carreras has impressed in recent matches (playing 90 minutes for Moreirense and at Faro, where he even scored, after replacing Bah against SP Braga ) who could be a viable option for the left wing of the defence. This is a situation that caused headaches for the coach, who resorted to adapting to Orsnes and Morato.
