The opening of the final four buildings of the Alentejo Science and Technology Park (PACT) expansion project in Évora, with a total investment of more than €10 million, was announced today on Friday.
In a statement sent to Lusa, the Foundation indicated that the inauguration ceremony of the so-called PACT 3.0 complex is scheduled to take place at 11:00 on Friday, in the expected presence of Prime Minister Luis Montenegro.
The Science and Technology Park explained that the PACT 3.0 complex consists of “four new and advanced infrastructures,” with a total area of about 6,000 square meters, which join two other existing buildings.
He noted that these new buildings join the Centro Infante Dom Henrique, which opened in 2022, and the first PACT building, which opened in 2015, with a total of six buildings and an area of 9,000 square metres.
According to the foundation, the complex that makes up the PACT 3.0 complex, like the Centro Infante Dom Henrique building, bears the “signature” of architect Carrilho da Graça.
Noting that the expansion aims to “promote research, technological development and innovation in the region”, PACT highlighted that the project amounted to “more than 10 million euros”, co-funded by the Alentejo 2020 Operational Programme.
“By building the PACT 3.0 Park, PACT strengthens its role as a driver of regional development and renews its ambition to make Alentejo a global reference in innovation,” the foundation’s CEO, Somodeep Sarkar, was quoted as saying. In the statement.
The four new buildings are already operational and nearly 100% occupancy.

These strategic areas are aviation, health technologies, agricultural technologies and Industry 4.0.
PACT revealed that TE Connectivity, DECSIS, SDAC, VC Silva, ITGest, Empowered Startups, Jerónimo Martins, IP Parking, Fraunhofer Portugal and Peak & Peak are the companies already installed in the new buildings.
He added: “The PACT system includes more than 60 companies with a majority presence in the areas of ICT, services, management, communications and marketing, which corresponds to about 450 highly qualified jobs and represents a turnover of 45 million euros for the region.” .
PACT, the pioneer of the Alentejo's Regional Technology Transfer (SRTT) system, was opened in September 2015, after an investment of €3.6 million.
Since the beginning of its activity, it encourages the transfer of knowledge and is a center of attraction for innovative companies with high potential for value creation.
The SRTT includes more than 30 partners from Alentejo, such as the University of Évora, the polytechnic colleges of Beja, Portalegre and Santarem, and other companies and institutions in the region.
