The Stock Exchange building in Copenhagen recently suffered a major fire that spread to all floors.

The fire brigade eventually brought the situation under control, but it is believed that significant amounts of value were lost.

As a result of the fire, changes are now being made with streets in Copenhagen set to be filled next weekend.

The organizer of the Copenhagen Marathon is now forced to act ahead of the folk festival next Sunday – where many Norwegians are tempted to take part.

The runners were originally supposed to run down Slotsholmsgate with Børsen on the right after passing the 34 kilometer mark. Race leader Dorte Vibjerg stresses that this cannot be done now.

Vibjerg would not say exactly what authorities cited as the reason for changing course, but the two parties jointly agreed to find a new route.

BT wrote on Tuesday that Slotsholmsgate had been closed since the fire.

On April 16, the 400-year-old Borsen Building began burning, with parts of the building burning. The cause of the fire is unknown.
