Singer convicted of rape attacked in prison
Britton, a zoologist living in Darwin, Australia, pleaded guilty to 56 counts of animal cruelty in the Northern Territory (NT) Supreme Court in September last year.
Only now is the verdict ready, after several postponements.
He also pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing and distributing child abuse material.
The 52-year-old worked at Charles Darwin University and has been seen on the BBC and National Geographic. He was born in West Yorkshire, UK, but moved to Australia more than 20 years ago.

He was convicted of torturing and sexually abusing more than 40 dogs, 39 of which were found dead in a container, where he is said to have filmed the abuse.
Britton is also forbidden from owning animals for the rest of his life.
Judge Michael Grant described the whole thing as “unspeakably horrific” and warned those in court that the graphic details of the case could cause “serious shock or other strong reactions”.
During the sentencing, the judge told Britton the following, Sky News reported:

– Your conduct in each of these events involves a degree of depravity and reprehensibility that is completely beyond any normal human perception and understanding.
According to court documents, Britton must have started preying on horses at the age of 13.
