The policeman in his 30s from the Nordland police district was sentenced by the appeals court to three years in prison, one year more than he received in the district court.
The constable has now been convicted in the Halogaland Court of Appeal of gross negligence rape, three cases of abuse of superior power and one case of misconduct.
He also has to pay compensation of NOK 133,000 to the woman who was raped by gross negligence.
The policeman in his 30s, who was suspended from the Nordland police district, has been charged with two counts of rape and abuse of a superior relationship to obtain sexual intercourse with five women.
The policeman denied the criminal charge, but admitted to having sexual relations with the women.
It is normal for the defendant to feel disappointed with his conviction. Attorney Heidi Resvang says the defense disagrees with the outcome.

The defendant was again acquitted of both counts of premeditated rape and of the single item of the compensation suit. This underscores the fact that no indictment was supposed to be issued in this case, defender Reisvang tells VG.
– The sentence of the Special Unit before the District Court was nine years. The appeals court’s ruling ended in a three-year prison sentence, and the outcome in both cases proves that neither the district court nor the appeals court heard the case the same way the office did, Resvang says.
– We will now conduct a comprehensive review of the ruling to assess appeals to the Supreme Court, says Reisvang.
