In an exclusive interview with Sport Life, nutrition expert Renata Branco highlighted three fruits. To find out:
1- Watermelon
Watermelon is rich in vitamins and minerals A, C, B6, zinc, iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium, and is a post-workout ally. “It helps with complete hydration, like a natural isotonic drink due to its high concentration of water and electrolytes,” highlights the nutritionist. “It's also rich in nitric oxide, which improves recovery by increasing oxygen flow to the blood and muscles. Additionally, it contains an amino acid called citrulline, which helps with muscle formation and reduces fatigue.”

2- Banana
The amount of carbohydrates present in bananas ensures energy and increases training performance. According to Renata Branco, “It is an excellent pre- or post-workout option.” And that's not all: this fruit is also a source of potassium, “essential for regulating muscle contraction and preventing cramps.”
3- Avocado
“It is rich in healthy fats, helps you feel full and is important for bowel function. It is also a source of fibre, potassium, sodium, magnesium, vitamins A, C, E, K1, phytosterols and glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant compound. Avocados also contain a high percentage of potassium, which regulates the activity of Muscles.
