Get ready for a night of science and fun in Porto! On September 27, the city will host the European Researchers Night, an event that will take place in several locations across Portugal, including Braga, Lisbon and Lagos, offering a variety of interactive activities for all ages.
Visitors will be able to participate in various experiences, such as stargazing, entering escape rooms, learning about different types of rocks and sea creatures, as well as boat trips and driving simulations. There will also be opportunities to taste sustainable menus and create sound orchestras. The NEI promises to offer immersive experiences that will surprise and engage all attendees in the fascinating world of scientific research.
Bringing the public closer to researchers, this event features inspiring talks and real-life stories about how science impacts people’s lives. Since its first edition in 2005, Researchers’ Night has attracted millions of participants, bringing together scientists eager to share their knowledge.

This initiative is promoted by the European Commission and aims to highlight the EU’s missions, addressing issues such as climate change adaptation and ocean recovery. The EU-EMBRACES consortium, which coordinates the 2024-2025 edition, is led by ITQB Nova, in collaboration with i3S and Rede Ciência Viva.
