“This morning, a fire broke out in the sick room of three people in the inpatient department of Special Hospital No. 1 in Pythom. The rapid reaction of staff and firefighters prevented the fire from spreading beyond the sick room. Fortunately, nothing happened to anyone,” Python Mayor Marius Vonos wrote on Facebook.
– The fire alarm system and hospital staff were immediately activated – the fire brigade was called. From all floors of the building located in Ul. Bruce was discharged to other wards, providing additional medical care to 57 patients. No one was injured. Representatives from the hospital said police and firefighters were trying to determine the cause of the fire.
In the morning, patients returned to their rooms – except those treated in the inpatient department who were not in service until the cause of the fire was identified. These patients are in the care of medical staff in other departments.

Firefighters received a notice of the fire from the municipal headquarters of the state fire service in Bydgoszki to the Wojciech Kravsik BAP at 2 p.m. The fire came out of a room on the second floor. “Before the troops arrived, we were informed that all the patients had been evacuated from this floor. Our operations were to protect the scene and put out the fire. We also evacuated the patients from the third and fourth floors,” the firefighter said. Nine firefighters took part in the operation. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
