According to the Evening Standard, the giraffe may have attacked because it wanted to defend its calf. Giraffe attacks are very rare, although they are a common sight around safari lodges in South Africa.

– The girl was taken to the nearest doctor’s clinic where she died, says police spokesman Nikobeel Madlala. BBC.

The police have now launched an investigation to find out what really happened prior to the accident.

There are no predators living in the park, and companies that rent cabins there advertise that you can stay in safe areas.

The director of one of the park’s rental companies will not comment to the BBC about the incident, stating that the matter is “sensitive”.
