A BOLA – Surprise: Abel Ruiz (SC Braga) invited by Luis Enrique (Spain)

SC Braga striker Abel Ruiz is the biggest surprise in calling up Luis Enrique for the next three games of the Spanish team, and this was his first appearance in the first team. In the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Spain will play on September 2, 5 and 8 against Sweden (Stockholm), Georgia (Badakhoz) and Kosovo (Pristina).

Ruiz was previously with the under-21 selection in the Euro class, as Spain were eliminated by Portugal in the semi-finals. If he plays now, it wouldn’t be his first international, as the under-21 player played against Lithuania’s first team in June, replacing the first team – in isolation due to Busquets’ positive test after the Portugal game – is international.

Those summoned were revealed in a video starring the coach as he places backpacks with players’ names on hangers in the dressing room at “end of vacation and back to school”.

As happened at Euro 2020, there are no Real Madrid players and Pedri, who had a little rest last season, is still on vacation.
