Tottenham officially announced, on Monday, the dismissal of Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who could not resist poor results, after four months of taking office.
After the defeat against Manchester United (0-3), a meeting was called to evaluate the moment and it was decided to dismiss the coach and the rest of the technical team consisting of Ian Cathrow, Rui Barbosa and Antonio Dias.
Fans were nervous about the coach after the defeat at the hands of the Red Devils, who never tire of cheering Nuno Espírito Santo.
Through a statement, sporting director Fabio Paratici left words of praise for the Portuguese: “I know how much Nuno and his technical team want to succeed and I’m sorry we made this decision. Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcomed here. We would like to thank you and your technical team and wish them all the best for the future.”
Nuno led Espirito Santo Tottenham in 17 games, in which he achieved eight wins, two draws and seven defeats, to bring the London team to the eighth place in the standings table with only 15 points, ten points behind leaders Chelsea.
