A BOLA - Clubs agree to the biggest budget ever (La Liga)

The 30 clubs represented this morning in the General Assembly of LaLiga Portugal unanimously approved the proposal for the budget and activity plan set by the Executive for the upcoming sporting season.

This is the highest budget in the history of the league, approaching 23.5 million euros, for costs that should not exceed 22 million, resulting in an expected positive year of more than 1 million euros. This budget is also the one that will distribute the most money, directly and indirectly, to sports associations.

For Telmo Viana, the university’s chief financial officer, “the consensus says it all about the budget,” especially given the “pre-pandemic and post-pandemic”, which brought many difficulties for business.

Already CEO, Roy Cairo, speaks of an “unmistakable show of alignment of wills” between the clubs and admits “with enthusiasm that this challenge is to continue on the path of rigor”.

The clubs meet again in a general meeting on July 8, then to discuss issues related to the disciplinary regulation (transfer of players to national teams), a change that was not passed in the last AG of the federation and will be considered again from a legal point of view.

Among the league’s emblems, only Gil Vicente represented its president, Francisco Dias da Silva.
