Autoeuropa stopped production between June 18 and 27 due to a shortage of ingredients

The company informed workers that Autoeuropa would suspend production between June 18 and 27 due to a shortage of “critical components”, but press activity remained unchanged.

“We are informing all employees and partners that production will stop between June 18 and 27. Production on the 17th is subject to confirmation later,” said a note from Autoeuropa, which Lusa was able to access.

The layoff will start at 00.00 on the 18th and extend until midnight on the 27th, with production resuming the night shift on 28th June.

According to the same document, this suspension is due to the “lack of many critical components”, which is associated with the global shortage of semiconductors.

However, business units continue to be active in the field of journalism.

“The assembly area will recover approximately 4,300 cars already parked with no other parts. Other activities will be subject to confirmation of their need,” he added.

The internal memo sent to the workers also made it clear that absences would be covered by marking mass “downtime” (days of non-production paid).

Lusa contacted Autoeuropa, which confirmed the suspension of production, noting that until all employees were informed, it would not reveal further details.
