The RFM Somnii Festival has been postponed again and rescheduled for July 8, 9 and 10, 2022 due to the current pandemic context, with all artists confirmed for next year’s edition, according to the producer.
The festival was originally scheduled to take place in July 2020, in Praia do Relógio, in Figueira da Foz, has been postponed to July this year, and is now rescheduled for 2022.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry – Memories of Tomorrow, promoter and producer of the event, announced the decision in a statement and “despite all efforts to hold the RFM SOMNII Forum this summer, and out of respect for the thousands of people who have been eager for more than a year for the festival to return.”
He explained that until the decision was made, several solutions were sought to ensure the necessary security, such as tests at the entrance to the building, the use of a mask, and the temperature of the public.
“However, the recent decisions of the national authorities unfortunately do not allow events of this kind to occur,” the organization explains.
All tickets already purchased for dates 2020 and 2021 remain valid for the next year, but under the terms of the DL26-A/2021, those who wish to request a ticket refund can do so within 14 business days after the initially scheduled 2021 date.
The poster announced for 2020 and 2021 has been confirmed for next year, with artists such as Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Alok, Miss K8 and Sean Paul, among others.
The pandemic has killed at least 3,775,362 people worldwide, resulting in more than 174.7 million cases, according to a balance by AFP.
In Portugal, 17,044 people have died out of 855,951 confirmed cases, according to the latest bulletin from the Directorate General of Health.
The disease is transmitted by the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, which was discovered in late 2019 in the central Chinese city of Wuhan.
