For patients who have survived a stroke, the challenge of post-stroke rehabilitation begins.

Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) is the second leading cause of death in Brazil and one of the most disabling diseases in the world. For patients who survive, there is a new challenge: rehabilitation.

In this special episode of DrauzioCast, Dr. Drozio Varela facilitated the conversation to explain what the rehabilitation journey is like for patients who have had a stroke and the importance of a multidisciplinary team to achieve proper recovery.

The panelists are Dr. Eduardo Rocha, a physiatrist, former president of the Brazilian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABMFR), Dr. Carolina Souza, a neurologist, specialist in movement and cognitive disorders, Prof. Guilherme Herrera – physiotherapist specializing in neurological physiotherapy and Fatima Viscara, caregiver and wife of Rui Martinez, who had a stroke at the age of 36.

This initiative aims to promote stroke awareness. This is an exclusive educational program about the disease.
