On a historic day for European aviation, the last Czech Airlines flight left Paris for Prague, ending more than a century of continuous air operations. This latest feat took off at Charles de Gaulle Airport at 8:15 pm, with landing at Prague's Vaclav Havel Airport at 9:55 pm (local time), under the “OK” code that the company has adopted since its founding. .
This flight brings an end to Czech Airlines' journey as an independent entity, as the airline will now be fully integrated into Smartwings, marking the end of an era for the iconic Czech brand. The company was the fifth oldest company in the world in terms of activity.
The historic air carrier, known worldwide for its long tradition and excellence, has been one of the pillars of the aviation sector in Central Europe. Although independent operations have ended, Czech Airlines' visual heritage will not completely disappear from the skies.
In a respectful tribute to the airline's heritage, two Airbus A320 aircraft will continue to carry the Czech Airlines' unmistakable colours, along with four new Airbus A220-300 aircraft that will join the fleet – the first two later this year and the rest until mid-2025. .
This transformation represents not only continuity under a new structure, but also the end of an exciting chapter in aviation history. The merger with Smartwings signals a strategy of renewal and operational strengthening, with the hope that the values and traditions of Czech Airlines will continue to be honored in European skies and beyond.
