The Piaui State Department of Health (Sisapi) sent doctors to participate in the “PCDT Modernization Workshop for the Management of HIV/AIDS Infection in Children and Adolescents” in Brasilia. This event brought together specialists from different parts of the country with the aim of improving care for patients infected with HIV, especially in the age group of children and adolescents.
Participants in the workshop included doctors from Teresina, from the Natan Portela Hospital, as well as representatives of the Center for Testing and Counseling (CTA/SAE) in Floriano and Periperi. Specialists Dr. Denis Carvalho (SAE of Natan Portela Hospital), Dr. Vinicius Coelho (SAE Floreano) and Dr. Maria das Doris (SAE Peripiri), were selected by Sesapi as part of a continuing effort to invest in the qualification of specialist doctors. According to Dercio Campillo, supervisor of medium and high complexities in Sisabe, the training of health professionals is essential to ensure quality care for the population. “Training our doctors is a way to ensure more qualified assistance and expand users’ access to health services,” Campillo said.
