VEctor Geukeris has signed a break from international commitments “at full strength”, adding a goal and an assist after two appearances for the Swedish national team, allowing him to become the Nations League's most clinical player to date.
The striker has made seven appearances (with four goals and three assists), earning him a status similar to that of La Liga, where he has been directly involved in 12 goals for Sporting (scoring 11 and another to be marked). Now he is missing… the Champions League.
In two matches with the lion on his chest, in Europe's biggest club competition, the Swedish international has scored one goal and not made any assists, which puts him far behind the leader of this season, Harry Kane, who has been involved in four goals for Bayern. Munich.
This is, of course, before entering the scene in the Portuguese Cup (where Ian Maranhão, from Anadia, and Mpolo Junior, from Cinefas, are, at the moment, the top scorers, with three goals each) and in the League Cup (in which, this year, he only starts in quarter-finals).
Numbers that of course still attract the attention of some of the biggest clubs in European football, such as Manchester City, with whom they have been linked, over the past few weeks, in light of the possible departure of Erling Haaland.
