Nima Renji Sherpa (18) from Nepal reached the summit of Mount Shishapangma in Tibet on Wednesday.

Thus, he became the youngest person to climb the 14 highest peaks in the world CNN.

Shishapangma was the last missing mountain of the fourteen recognized “8000” mountains, i.e. mountains 8,000 meters above sea level.

The 18-year-old's feat has been confirmed by the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

– I dedicate this world record to my project #SherpaPower, writes Renji Instagram.

He also writes that this feat is a tribute to every Sherpa who dared to dream beyond the traditional limits set for them.

Mountaineering is more than just work: it is a testament to our strength, resilience and passion.

Shishapangma is located in Tibet at an altitude of 8,027 meters above sea level.

The Sherpas have lived in the highlands of the Himalayas for generations, and have long been guides and porters for tourists wishing to climb the great mountains.

Klarte Sherpas are often the ones who make climbing trips possible. Although they carry heavy equipment and guide tourists to high mountain peaks, they often do not receive the same recognition as Western climbers, CNN writes.

– Through #SherpaPower, I want to show the younger generation of Sherpas that they can go beyond the stereotype of only supporting climbers and use their potential as the best athletes, adventurers and creators, Renji wrote in this post.

We are not just guides, but pioneers.

The previous record holder was also a Nepalese climber. Mingma Jiabu “David” Sherpa wrote that he reached 14 peaks at the age of 30 in 2019 BBC.
