A New Zealand national has been wanted by police since he took his three children with him and fled in 2021. Now the four may have been spotted together for the first time since their disappearance.
The New Zealand TV channel published the video clip 1 news Tuesday.
According to police, the people in the photo are likely Tom Phillips and the three children, ages 11, 9, and 8.

In an interview with New Zealand HeraldMother Kat also confirms that she recognized her children in the video.
-I'm so happy everyone is there. I'm so relieved to see all three. She says everyone is alive.
The clip is said to have been filmed by some young pig hunters in the Waikato region on Thursday last week.
Police have now launched a search in the area, but Phillips and the children have not yet been noticed after being photographed, he writes. The Guardian.

According to 1 News, Phillips fled with the children on December 9, 2021. The father was first wanted in January, when he did not appear in court.
He had to appear in court because in September of the same year he launched what police believed was an expensive and unnecessary search for missing persons. Phillips had failed to make a sound during what he claimed was a 19-day camping trip with children in the local area.
He's supposed to have robbed the bank
Police have since expanded the arrest warrant to include more criminal matters. Phillips is said to have been observed repeatedly in recent years, in connection with the purchase of supplies and equipment.

Among other things, he allegedly carried out a bank robbery, several robberies, used violence, and was in illegal possession of weapons. Phillips also does not have custody of the children, according to 1 News.

Police are now asking for help from the public, and stress that their most important goal is to return the children to their families safely.
– Although we cannot go into detail, we want to assure the public that we have the resources necessary to respond to all information that reaches us about sightings, says First Officer Andrew Saunders, according to The Guardian.
