FAPESP Agency – The Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC) is receiving, until October 31, nominations for the 6th Carolina Burri Prize for Science and Women. The current edition is for the Girls in Science category, which recognizes the talent and dedication of high school and college students to innovative and inspiring projects.

Students with beginning scientific research that demonstrates creativity, methodological rigor, and the ability to contribute to the future of science in the country can participate.

The award covers three main areas of knowledge: humanities; Biological and health. Engineering, exact sciences and earth sciences. In total, six students will be selected as winners, three from high school and three from undergraduate.

Winners will receive a trophy and have the opportunity to present their work at the SBPC's 77th Annual Meeting, in July 2025, in Recife. They will also participate in an exclusive mentoring with researchers, providing a unique opportunity to develop their scientific careers.

Those interested must be nominated by teachers, counselors, school coordinators, or organizers of national Olympics and science fairs. Nominations must be made by Online form.

Winners will be announced by January 20, 2025. The award ceremony will take place on February 11, the day International Day of Women and Girls in Science is observed, in a special event broadcast live on SBPC YouTube channel.
