Amadora shines at the top after beating Benfica (1-0) – Second Division

Estrela da Amadora beat Benfica (1-0) and joined Sporting at the top of the Spanish League's second division. In a match of alternating dominance, the tricolor team relied on quick turnovers in the second half, winning a penalty that eventually gave them victory.

The Stars started more offensively, but the first big opportunity went to the Reds, as they went one-on-one in front of Marko Godzulic, allowing the goalkeeper to make a save (8). However, the locals' great control ended with some dangerous moves until the half-hour, as Gustavo Figueredo (13'), Afonso Carvalho (17') and Helder Fernandez (26') showed their ineffectiveness in determining the moves. In the last quarter of an hour of this period, the eagles rose and had some ascent, but they proved insignificant as they approached the last third, so the loom remained until rest.

In the second half, the Reds dominated, but once again showed their lack of distinction when attacking the opposite area. On the other hand, the visitors bet on quick transitions, and in one of them, Peterson was brought down in the opposite area by Gonzalo Oliveira, causing the maximum penalty that Ricardo Matias converted and created the star's victory. Thus, the Tricolor shares the lead with the Lions with 12 points.
