YAnne Benjamin Kugel took to social media on Thursday to bid farewell to Benfica, the club where he has worked since the summer of 2022, as physical trainer of the technical team led by Roger Schmidt.
“This picture represents what means the most to me at this club! The people we worked with every day! The physios, the doctors, the equipment people, the field technicians, the aunts who cooked for us every day, the restaurant chefs. The team, the assistants, the scouts and of course the sports science team.”
“I have never been welcomed in such a respectful and friendly way at any other club, where the daily interaction was characterised by the pursuit of a common goal and leaving everyone’s ego at the door! Every day! The same goes for the team!” he continued.
“I would like to thank the captains, Nicolás Otamendi and João Mário, for their trust and daily commitment! It has been a great season, at a great club, in a beautiful city that I will continue to call home! All the best to the team. Good luck in the future,” he concluded.
