This corresponds to an average of 124 killed and 287 injured every day since October 7 last year.

17,000 children
The Island He analyzed the casualty figures and concluded that 2.6 percent of all children in Gaza, or nearly 17,000 children, were killed in Israeli attacks.

Remember that many also die from hunger and disease.
– For months, children have been killed, starved and maimed, many dying of hunger and disease that could have been prevented with adequate humanitarian aid. Food, water and necessary health care are trucked in just a few kilometres away, Westrin says.
She stressed the need to reach a final ceasefire, while at the same time calling on Israel to allow the entry of life-saving medical equipment, medicines and relief workers into Gaza to prevent the deaths of more children.

550 classrooms
Al Jazeera has tried in several ways to portray the death toll in the Gaza Strip.

Missing
According to the authorities, more than 10,000 other Palestinians are missing in the Gaza Strip, many of whom are feared buried under the rubble of bombed buildings.
If the proportion of children and women killed is taken into account, there could be more than 4,000 children and 1,800 women among the missing.
