Rimac Nevera R. Plus has 193 hp but that's not the most important thing

Rimac Nevera R. Plus has 193 hp but that's not the most important thing

Rimac looked at the Nevera and decided to give it more of everything: now, in R version, it has 2,107 hp and reaches 300 km/h in less than 9 seconds. Gorgeous.

Nobody ever looked at the Rimac Nevera's numbers and thought: “It's not enough, it could be improved…” But that didn't stop Rimac from launching the Nevera R, a more radical, more powerful and more exclusive version.

Despite its impressive performance and the sheer number of records it has collected, Rimac has always presented the Nevera as a Hyper Gran Turismo. Now, with the Nevera R, Rimac wants to see it as a hyper sports car.

To do this, we start with power: as if the 1,914 hp of the “regular” Nevera weren’t enough, the Nevera R announces a maximum power of 2,107 hp, plus 193 hp.

0 to 300 km/h in 8.66 seconds

This increase in power gives the Rimac Nevera R enhanced acceleration. If you keep the same 0-100 km/h time of 1.81 seconds, and 0-200 km/h, it drops the speed by 0.04 seconds (a meager 4.38 seconds), it takes 0.56 seconds less to reach 300 km/h than before, making it an impressive 8.66 seconds.

The classic quarter mile (402 m) is completed in 8.23 seconds, just 0.02 seconds slower. The top speed, on the other hand, is the same between the two Neveras: 412 km/h.

Those are impressive numbers, but the Nevera R’s great story isn’t its incredible acceleration. Rimac has revised almost everything else. There’s a new-generation, lighter and more efficient 108kWh battery (up from 120kWh), revised aerodynamics and Rimac has focused its efforts on the Nevera R’s dynamic capabilities.

In this regard, Rimac speaks of improvements to the four-wheel torque vectoring (R-AWTV) system, in order to ensure greater predictability even when the road is wet. The steering system has also been modified for more precise response and clearer communication.

The good news is that the Nevera R has lost 35kg… but it's still 2115kg.

revised aerodynamics

The new aerodynamic package for the Nevera R includes a more prominent rear diffuser as well as a fixed rear wing. Thanks to these new elements, it was possible to increase downforce By 15%, in addition to bringing new Michelin Cup 2 tires that guarantee an improvement in lateral grip by about 5%.

Finally, there are new ceramic brakes that now have a silicone layer for increased durability and cooling capacity.

On the most technical track (the Handling Track) at the Nardo Circuit, in Italy, these changes allowed a lap time reduction of 3.8 seconds, clearly demonstrating the effectiveness of all these changes. Promotions.

It now remains to be seen whether Rimac will take the Nevera R to the legendary Nürburgring to improve on the record it already holds. The Nevera is the fastest tram on the German circuit with a time of 7 minutes and 05.298 seconds.

Fast and… exclusive

However, this may never happen. Production of the new Rimac Nevera R is limited to just 40 units. As for the price, it has not been announced.
