Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced through Official PlayStation Bloga new limited edition ASTRO BOT DualSense controller, to celebrate the new adventure of this exclusive character from the PlayStation universe. The game is available for pre-order now on PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct and will arrive on consoles from September 6. The new controller costs €79.99 and can be ordered from August 9, but will only be available from the game's launch date.

The controller features a different color scheme than the usual DualSense and the texture seems different too. But the big news is the eyes, similar to those of the ASTRO BOT, which have been integrated into the touchpad.

In the same article, Sony also revealed several new features about the game, such as the greater number of textures that can be felt through the controller as ASTRO moves across various different materials on the ground and also the greater number of haptic feedback that the command gives when using different objects in the game.

The PlayRoom, the first game featuring Astro, was released in 2013. In 2018, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, a series of adventures for PSVR on PS4, was released. In 2020, Astro's PlayRoom was released, a game that comes pre-installed on PlayStation 5 consoles and serves as a showcase for the DualSense controllers' capabilities.

Developed by Asobi Team, the new ASTRO BOT brings back the robotic PlayStation hero in a new space adventure. Here, Astro’s galactic enemy has attacked the PS5 mothership, jamming the wires and scattering the crew across space. Only Astro can solve the problem, and as he embarks on his biggest mission yet, he’ll need players’ help to rescue the crew and rebuild the mothership.

ASTRO BOT will take players to explore 6 galaxies and over 80 levels in search of the crew, where they will be able to use over 15 skills to make their way through each scenario. The game is available for pre-order now on both consoles. Playstation Storeas in PlayStation Direct and the usual points of sale, and has a standard edition, available in physical and digital format for €69.99 (Recommended RRP), and also with the Digital Deluxe Edition, which is only available in digital format for €79.99.
