Clube de Esposende issued a statement in response to the accusations of the Warriors yesterday.
CF Fão issued a statement this afternoon in response to: Yesterday's accusations from BragaThe fighters stated that the club from the municipality of Esposende did not fulfill the promise contract regarding the Al-Faw Sports Complex and that it is illegal.
Now CF Fão says it has “not committed any breach of this contract of promise”. “On the date on which this purchase and sale contract was signed, there was no license to use in relation to the Centro Desportivo de Fão, however, this fact was known and was known to SC Braga and did not prevent SC Braga from entering into the agreement of this contract”, it reads.
“Despite not having such a license, SC Braga has not stopped making intensive use of this sports center, even holding all official Liga 3 matches there as a visitor, and it has not prevented SC Braga from renting the space to other clubs and extracting it,” adds Fao, recalling that Sp. Braga made an offer of one million euros to buy the complex, “a price much lower than the one obligated by the contract.”
Remember that due to this dispute, Braga B will no longer play in Al-Faw as host in the 2024/25 Spanish League.
Full statement from FAO:
“In the face of the statement of the Braga Sports Club, regarding the Al-Faw Sports Complex and the purchase and sale contract signed with the Municipality of Esposende and the Braga Sports Club, hereby declares that, contrary to what was announced in this statement, no breach of this promissory contract has been committed.
On the date on which this purchase and sale contract was signed, there was no license for use in relation to the Centro Desportivo de Fão, however, this fact was known and was known to SC Braga and did not prevent SC Braga from concluding this contract.
Despite the lack of such a license, SC Braga did not stop making extensive use of this sports center, even holding all official Liga 3 matches there as a visitor, and it did not prevent SC Braga from renting the space to other clubs and extracting profits from it.
The lack of this license also did not prevent SC Braga from submitting a proposal in judicial execution to try to buy Centro Desportivo de Fão for only €1,000,000.00, i.e. at a price much lower than the price committed under the contract. CF Fão was the injured party and not the defaulter.
If those contractually bound have fulfilled their contractual obligations, CF Fão's assets will not be subject to any judicial enforcement and will not be offered for sale in electronic auctions and in the form of a sale by private negotiation (execution agent).
Time and justice will reveal the truth.”
