Kate, accompanied by her nine-year-old daughter Charlotte, was welcomed onto Wimbledon's Centre Court to a standing ovation from the crowd.

The princess, a huge fan of the sport, handed the trophy to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who beat Serbian Novak Djokovic.

This is the Princess of Wales's second public appearance since Christmas. In March, Kate announced in a video that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy for cancer.

His first public appearance was on June 15, at the birthday celebrations of King Charles III, when he waved to the crowd alongside the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

On the eve of her appearance at Wimbledon, Kate posted a message on social media, her first statement since announcing her illness, in which she expressed her desire to participate in the event, despite undergoing treatment.

Prince William, heir to the British throne and Kate's husband, had planned to watch the European Championship final between England and Spain in Berlin.
