It is worth noting that UEFA decided yesterday to dismiss the Porto referee as well as the rest of the team that accompanied him, thus eliminating them from the semi-finals and final of the competition held in Germany. Soares Dias refereed three matches in the tournament: he made his debut in the match between Poland and the Netherlands (1-2) in the first round of Group D; followed by Denmark-England (1-1) in the second round of Group C; and they completed their participation in the round of 16 in Austria-Turkey (1-2). In total, the Portuguese referee showed nine yellow cards and no red cards.
