Sporting confirms the closure of the pit and 2,000 additional seats at Alvalade

Sporting announced on Thursday that it will close the trench at Alvalade Stadium, so the stadium will now have an additional 2,000 seats.

The Lions announced in a statement the beginning of “the next phase of New Era 2.0, on the path towards the new design of Jose Alvalade Stadium.”

This project, which will start in the 2024/25 season, will be completed in 2025/26, and will implement several changes.

In addition to closing the hole, the green and white club will also replace the stadium's current giant screens, which will allow “the release of new additional seats.”

In addition, “lounges with exclusive access for members and partners with access to the bar and various gastronomic experiences” will be created.

With the new 2,000 seats, the Lugares de Leão offer will be redesigned, which will begin opening sales in October 2024 for “Special Early Lion Conditions” and in February 2025 for “Standard Conditions.”

“Existing Lion Seat holders will be entitled to a priority period to purchase the new offer, details of which will be announced in September. (…) Since the new offer will only be available for the 2025/2026 season, if you currently have an active Lion's Place*, you will be able to take advantage of it during the 2024/2025 season,” the note also says.
