The vaccine remains available for all age groups, starting from six months of age, in the municipal basic health units (UBS), except for Morros, which is subject to renewal.

Guarulhos UBS is open from 8am to 5pm (with vaccination until 4pm), except for units that have extended operating hours: Flor da Montanha (until 8pm), Villa Galvão, Tranquildad, Paravente (until 7pm), with vaccination closed One hour before UBS close.

The virus

Influenza is an acute respiratory infection with high transmissibility and is responsible for high rates of hospitalization throughout Brazil. Among the variants, influenza A and B are the main causes of seasonal epidemics, with influenza A virus being responsible for the major pandemics. Among the subtypes of influenza A virus, H1N1 and H3N2 are currently the ones that circulate seasonally and infect humans.

The Ministry of Health warns of the most prominent symptoms of influenza, which are fever, cough, and pain in the throat, body, and head. In case of doubt, the resident must go to one of the Guarulhos emergency services, whose addresses can be found at https://www.guarulhos.sp.gov.br/servicos-de-pronto-atendimento-e-upas.
