Less than two months after the first cases of Oropouche fever were confirmed in Santa Catarina, the disease caused by Maruim fever is progressing in the state. A bulletin issued by the Epidemiological Surveillance of the Supreme Committee on Thursday (13) shows seven cities in the Itajai Valley with infected people.

The SC government informed that a series of actions will be developed alongside town halls to map the progress of Oropouche fever. Among the measures is collecting disease vectors to study and analyze samples from other patients to enhance disease surveillance.
