In a post in BlogActivision has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will require a constant internet connection, even in single-player mode. This is because the game uses texture streaming in all modes, ensuring high-quality visuals and reducing storage requirements.

The upcoming Cold War-set shooter aims to deliver high-quality visuals through texture streaming, which also helps in keeping the game's install size at 309.85GB. Activision explains that this method helps manage storage space on players' disks, responding to the traditionally large file sizes of Call of Duty games.

Although a constant internet connection is required, campaign mode can be played without an online subscription service such as Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus. This ensures that players can enjoy the single-player experience at no additional cost.

Additionally, split-screen play will be supported on Xbox Series However, this feature will not be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to maintain performance integrity.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's always-online requirements aim to strike a balance between high-quality visuals and storage space management, but it raises questions about the trade-offs involved with this approach.
