Michael Mosley disappeared in Greece

The 67-year-old British TV personality is missing. And here he is on the beach where he was last seen.

Michael Mosley, 67, disappeared from the Greek holiday island of Symi, which is about an hour's ferry from Rhodes.

His agent confirmed that he was missing, according to the BBC.

He is said to have left St. Nicks Beach around 1:30pm local time on Wednesday, a woman wrote in a Facebook post. She also shared a photo of Mosley, which VG verified was taken at that beach.

Search crews are conducting extensive searches at sea and on land on Thursday. They are in place with dogs, drones and helicopters.

– They are trying to recreate the route he took when his friends last saw him on the beach in St Nicholas at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon, the woman wrote in an email to VG.

She says the terrain is very rugged and conditions are still very hot in Symi, so the search can take several hours before there is any reliable news.

Unfortunately, he did not bring his mobile phone with him, so if he got into trouble, he would not be able to call for help.

The island's mayor told Greek media that some witnesses should have seen Mosley in the city after the trip.

Mosley is a well-known television personality, having worked at the BBC for many years. He is known as the much talked about 5:2 diet guru.

The 5:2 diet spread around the world after the BBC program «Eat, fast and live longer» – “Eat, Fast, and Live Longer,” which collected research on aging, weight, and general diseases.
