sOvia Alves interviewed Julia Pinheiro today, June 4, on the presenter's afternoon program on SIC. The 50-year-old actress revealed that in 2022, before the recording of the TV series “A Serra”, of which she was the heroine, she was diagnosed with shingles, also known as herpes zoster.
The artist explained that it is “the varicella virus that exists inside humans,” noting that the problem appeared at a time when her immunity was low.
“It's very painful and it's like a cigarette burn,” he says. “It's pain that affects the nerve part of our cells. It's terrible pain.”
He added: “Within two days I was completely affected, because it caught my attention and could have led to blindness.”
The interviewee highlights that the process was “long” and that although she was able to score the series, all her scenes had to be retouched using “special effects.”
“I thought I was going to lose my vision,” he recalls. “I saw shapes but couldn’t identify them.”
One of the most difficult moments was when the doctor told him: “If you lose your sight, you will have to have surgery and have a glass eye fitted.”
Fortunately, everything turned out for the better.
