Mourinho (61 years old) has been away from the bench since mid-January, when he was dismissed from the leadership of the Italian team Roma, the club he led for two and a half seasons and led to winning the first edition of the European League. In 2021/22, he will become the first coach to lift the three continental club cups, after the Champions League, in 2003/04 and 2009/10, and the European League, in 2002/03 and 2016/17.

After succeeding his Portuguese compatriot Paulo Fonseca, Mourinho led the Giallorossi in 138 official matches, in which they achieved 68 wins, 39 defeats and 31 draws, and finished the Italian League in sixth place in 2021/22 and 2022/23, both of which he completed the two seasons ahead.
