Havertz shines, Arsenal applies “Maneta” to Chelsea and leads the way

Knockdown! Arsenal directs “Manita” to Chelsea, in the London derby, and isolates itself in first place in the English Premier League. The Gunners had a very strong start to the match and opened the scoring after four minutes through Leandro Trossard after beautiful team play. Declan Rice received the ball from the left side of the midfield, ran into the penalty area and passed it to the Belgian, who shot the ball through Petrovic's legs.

After the goal, the North London team continued to dominate the match and created opportunities to increase their advantage. Declan Rice missed the target with a shot from the edge of the box, and Havertz and Trossard watched Petrovic prevent them from celebrating 2-0. On the other hand, the Blues managed to reach the opposite area and on one of those occasions they almost scored: Gabriel Magalhaes almost scored an own goal, but the ball hit the post. Shortly afterwards, former Benfica player Enzo Fernandes fired a low shot from the edge of the penalty area wide of the target. The result was great for Chelsea in the first half. Furthermore, the second part was a complete disaster. After Rice and Havertz threatened the goal, Ben White took advantage of a rebound in the penalty area to relieve the Gunners.

With their city rivals on the carpet, Arsenal never took their foot off the accelerator and continued to attack, making it 3-0 a few minutes later. Odegaard sent an excellent pass to penetrate the opponent's defense and isolate Kai Havertz, who did not forgive him and scored against his former team.

The ceremony was open at the Emirates Stadium, which witnessed the German scoring another goal, the second for the club he represents between 2020 and 2023. Ben White scored the final goal 5-0 after a (more) high-quality pass from Odegaard. The English player appeared to be trying to pass a cross, but the ball went “straight” into the Blues' goal.

The match came to the end with Chelsea completely unrecognized. Pochettino strengthened the defensive sector to avoid greater humiliation, while Arteta “rescued” the players with the aim of playing a new derby, this time with Tottenham, at the end of the week. In addition to Jesus, Martinelli, Jorginho and Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira also played minutes (15 minutes) and came close to the goal – the ball entered the side netting. With this victory, Arsenal has 77 points, three points ahead of Liverpool (one game less) and four points behind Manchester City (two matches less). In turn, Chelsea occupies ninth place with 47 points, 13 points behind Tottenham, which is in fifth place.
