The children were punished – the children screamed and cried

-What a flop for this event. It's a big mess.

“This is how the Thunder message begins,” Father Stuart Sinclair wrote on Facebook on Saturday, February 24.

He's just been to the Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow, Scotland, with his family – for an event described, according to the company, as a “children's dream paradise”.

– It was said to be a Willy Wonka experience complete with chocolate fountains and everything needed to create a wonderful day out for the kids. But it was just that, he was angry and added:

-It was pure fraud!

I opened the bag: – Fuck you, dad

– disaster

Stewart and the family went to Willy Wonka's Paradise on Saturday morning. Before the trip, they were anticipating chocolate fountains, bouncy castles, playgrounds, authentic “Oompalompas” and Willy Wonka himself – as described by the organiser, House of Illuminati Glasgow.

But when they arrived there was little that resembled a dream paradise: in a remote warehouse, all they could see were a few Willy Wonka posters and some props around the room.

– Each child got a small piece of jelly and a little juice. It was a complete disaster. The parents stood at the door complaining, and across the room I heard several children screaming and crying, he continued.

The backlash didn't take long after Stewart posted the nasty post on social media. In fact, over a thousand people took to the comments section to share their thoughts on this exciting event:

– This is really embarrassing. Imagining defrauding parents and children in this way enrages distraught parents.

– We were about to go there, thank God I saw this post first, writes another.

Several people wrote that they shared the same terrible experience as Stewart, and added that they had forwarded the complaint to the regulator.

– The so-called “Ompalompaen” who were supposed to be there were actually lousy actors who hadn't learned the script, Thunder III.

– Ol' Price Wonka, writes IV.

Sorry

On Sunday, Stewart updated his Facebook post and wrote that the Willy Wonka event has been discontinued.

-The event has now been canceled and the doors are closed, but I still would not recommend this company to anyone. What a trick, he writes in conclusion.

Several media outlets reported on Stewart's experience in recent days, According to the Independent newspaper The Illuminati House, which is behind the Wonka hoax, apologized to its customers:

– We apologize for the stressful and frustrating day many had over the weekend, and they start by apologizing.

– We offered 850 customers a refund for the experience, and closed the doors on Saturday after several bad reactions, the company continues.

Furthermore, they say they take the criticism seriously, but will not comment further on the incident. They also apologized on their Facebook page for the bad experience.

Dad Stuart Sinclair also expressed his frustration to The Independent. He tells the newspaper that it was as unfortunate for the poor actors as it was for the clients:

– Maybe they were as shocked as we were. Maybe it was worse for them, they didn't even get paid, he comments.

The Illuminati House has not responded to Stewart's criticism, but generally says they are sorry for what happened.
