AOC has launched a new gaming monitor focused on the competitive audience, but they prefer a more realistic-looking device. The AOC AGON Gaming Q27G4X arrives with a Quad HD display and a minimalist design, completely different from what the company is used to using.

Getting down to business, the AGON Q27G4X is the successor to the standard Q27G4. The new model ditches the 1080p display and invests in a 27-inch display with 1440p resolution, a 180Hz refresh rate, and a 0.5ms MPRT response time. One difference is the Fast IPS panel, which maintains traditional IPS characteristics, but comes with a shorter response time for a competitive scenario.

However, the monitor is not integrated with G-SYNC or AMD FreeSync. Instead, the Q27G4X features Adaptive Sync technology to avoid the effects of screen tearing, as well as VESA DisplayHDR400 to improve brightness levels, covering up to 127% of the sRGB color spectrum.

The screen uses a set of thin bezels

In terms of design, the AOC AGON Gaming Q27G4X features a set of ultra-thin bezels and a hexagonal-shaped base. The height support allows for tilt and swivel, plus there is a quick release system for quick installation of all parts.

In terms of connections, this monitor is compatible with two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a headphone output. However, the device does not have a built-in speaker and it also does not have USB connections.
