The information was confirmed by friend and actor Marcos Caruso, reveals O Globo, on Tuesday and shared on social media.
“You know when you pass by the school you taught at and see that the building has been torn down? That's how I feel about you leaving,” Caruso's post read.
Jandira was born in Santos (São Paulo) and began her career on television in 1966, when she was 21 years old. She studied literature at the Catholic University of Santos and later graduated in theater translation at the College of Dramatic Arts, also in São Paulo.
She gained wide fame in Globo soap operas, most notably “Sassarecando,” where she played the cruel and rich Teodora Abdallah in 1987. She also appeared in “O Clone,” “Salve Jorge,” and “Éramos Seis.”
He also made a contribution to Brazilian theatre. He founded the Royal Bexiga group where he worked for several years with Marcos Caruso. Together they wrote the play “Porca Miséria”, for which they won the Shell Theater Prize in 1993, and co-produced the screenplay for “Trair e Coçar é Só Começar”, based on Caruso's play.
