Jose Mourinho says goodbye to Roma in a 10-word message

“Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brotherhood, history, heart and eternity,” were the 10 words he wrote on Instagram to bid farewell to the Romanian team he had led for the past two and a half years.

Jose Mourinho left the Roma team today, after three matches without winning in the Italian Football League and being eliminated by its rival Lazio in the Italian Cup, in his third season with the Roman club, leaving the team in ninth place in the Italian League with 29 points. 21 fewer than leaders Inter Milan after 20 rounds.

Mourinho (60 years old) arrived at the Giallorosso club in May 2021, succeeding Paulo Fonseca, and left his position six days after being eliminated from the cup quarter-finals by eternal rival Lazio, with a goal from Mattia Zaccagni from a penalty kick. Portuguese Thiago Pinto announced the end of his term as sporting director of the club.

In the Romanian logo, Mourinho won the European League title in the 2021/22 season, becoming the first coach to lift the three continental club cups, after the Champions League, in 2003/04 and 2009/10, and the European League, in 2002/03 and 2016/17.

In the Italian capital, in addition to winning the European League title, Mourinho reached the Europa League final last season, after losing to Sevilla, without exceeding sixth place in the tournament, in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons.
